La Romana will receive two weekly SkyUp Airlines flights from Poland
La Romana International Airport announced the arrival of the first of two weekly flights from Poland operated by SkyUp Airlines. This inaugural flight strengthens La Romana’s position as a key destination for tourism development in the eastern region of the country and the Caribbean.
The first flight arrived from Warsaw, carrying 333 passengers aboard a modern Boeing 777-300R at near full capacity, highlighting the high demand for this route.
The second flight will also connect La Romana with the Polish city of Katowice weekly, strengthening tourism ties between Eastern Europe and the Dominican Republic.
“This operation is the result of a strategic collaboration with the leading tour operators Anex Tour and Join Up, who play an essential role in organizing trips from Poland to the Caribbean paradises,” said Luis Emilio Rodríguez, director of La Romana Airport.
“These flights represent not only an opportunity for the arrival of European visitors, but also a significant boost to the local economy, promoting the tourism industry and generating new opportunities in the sector,” added Rodríguez.
La Romana International Airport, known for its infrastructure and proximity to destinations such as Casa de Campo, Altos de Chavón, and the areas of Bávaro, Dominicus-Bayahíbe, Juan Dolio, and Boca Chica, continues to establish itself as an ideal gateway for international visitors.
The addition of SkyUp Airlines to the airport’s schedule is a testament to the growth of the tourism sector in La Romana and the country’s appeal as a preferred destination for travelers from around the world.
In addition, American Airlines also resumed its daily flight from Miami to La Romana Airport, demonstrating the potential of the tourist destination by generating economic and business opportunities for the province and the eastern region.
