La Romana Airport increases its number of weekly flights from Italy with Alpitours

With the presence of the Civil Aviation Board, the Civil Aviation Institute of the Dominican Republic, and Andrés Fernández, President of La Romana Airport, Minister of Tourism David Collado announced the signing of an agreement with Alpitour at the Dominican Republic stand at Fitur 2024.

This alliance will allow for four weekly direct flights from Italy to the Dominican Republic and also ensure air connectivity from France to our country.

“Thank you very much for believing in our country and ratifying this agreement for four weekly flights to the Dominican Republic,” said Minister Collado before signing this favorable agreement for our country.

“This opportunity is an honor. We have been flying to the Dominican Republic with direct flights for many years, and we will continue to do so now with four, and who knows if we can increase the number in the future,” reaffirmed Gabriele Burgio, CEO of Alpitour.

La Romana, a Growing Airport

In terms of growth, in October 2023, according to figures obtained from data processed by the Civil Aviation Board, La Romana Airport doubled its passenger numbers compared to October 2022.
